Sea & Believe was founded by Jennifer O'Brien, who aimed to revolutionize the health and sustainability aspects of our food system. Growing up with Chronic Asthma, Jennifer learned to manage her symptoms by turning to the natural resources of her home country, Ireland. Her transformative encounter with a seaweed bath in Enniscrone, Co. Sligo, Ireland, provided remarkable relief, sparking her realization of the extraordinary properties of Irish seaweed.

This experience ignited Jennifer's passion for seaweed, prompting her to delve into its incredible properties. She discovered that amino acids in red algae can reduce cholesterol levels and possess antiviral and cancer-fighting properties. Additionally, seaweed offers benefits for skin, thyroid function, blood sugar levels, gut health, bone health, and the immune system. Jennifer's shift to a plant-based diet led to the complete resolution of her symptoms after 30 years.

Inspired by her journey, Jennifer decided to explore the potential of Irish native seaweeds. Teaming up with a remarkable group of scientists in Galway, she is working to commercialize products that incorporate the beneficial properties of this seaweed.
